Castle Rock Bewery Makes “Kiss Me Kate” Pale Ale for the Royal Wedding

28 Feb

We all know Kate Middleton is a lucky lady. She nabbed Prince William, dresses awesome, travels the world, has rock hard abs, hangs out on yachts and is going to be a princess in a few months. But now, she is getting a beer named after her too – Life is not fair.

Naturally, everyone wants to know what dress she will wear, how she will do her hair, where they will go on their honeymoon – every detail surrounding the royal wedding. People will watch in awe as a complete stranger thousands of miles a way walks down the aisle and some will even shed a tear and say things like, “I wish Diana could have been here to see this. She would have been so proud.” That is all great, but I want to know what this beer will taste like.

Castle Rock Brewery, located in Nottingham, has formulated what could be the most genius marketing scheme I have seen in a long time – a beer named after Kate Middleton which will be released in April and run until the royal wedding, April 29th.

“Kiss Me Kate” is the name of the pale ale and it better be fit for a queen or else I’m going to be very disappointed.

Castle Rock claims they are celebrating the royal marriage in the best way they know how- brewing this specialty beer. I like their style. The beer will be served on draught at local pubs and also a limited amount will be produced in bottle.

The beer will be 5 percent alcohol and according to the Castle Rock Website, the beer will be “full of british hops and barley…elegant, tasteful and British to the core.”

So if you were ever a child that made your parents wait in line for hours for the Princess Diana TY beanie baby, this could be a good addition to your “random British stuff” collection.

Also, if red heads are your thing, I think Prince Harry is back on the market 🙂

I don’t know, is she really that lucky? Has to spend the rest of her life with a balding British guy who’s most famous for his smile and lack of authority? I mean, how many bon bons and pale ales do you have to consume to numb the pain of sitting on a throne while the rest of your country mulls the swift death of Anglo-Saxon supremacy?

I shed a tear for Kate tonight. Should’ve married Yanks’ first baseman Mark Teixeira, who – little known fact – is the exact same person, except with a .913 career OPS and a World Series ring. Seriously, what was the poor girl thinking?
